Our Ultimate E-Biking Tour will start in Cusco. We will pick you up from your hotel and start our drive to Urubamba. Here, your guide will brief the day covering a safety talk, an explanation of the trail and listing the places to visit during your trip.
Once we are geared up, we will be ready for the ride!
The ride will start in Urubamba following the trainlines next to the Urubamba River. This first part of the ride will be flat for most of it. Continuing, it will take us to the bottom segment of the Salineras trail in Pichingoto.
The second part of our ride will be a climb up the Salineras trail, all the way to the Saltpans. Here we will learn about the salt mining process and its history. We will take a moment to take pictures and, if we are lucky, see the harvesting process in action.
The third part of the ride will be another climb, with a brief stop to take some last pictures of the Salineras. Then we will continue over a light uphill to the colonial town of Maras. Here we are going to learn some more about the colonial history and of course all the products that are made with the local salt, including some Salty Chocolate.
The following part of our ride will take us over some farming flat lands and ravines, with amazing views of Chicon, Veronica and a few other snow-caped peaks. This segment will take us to the Moray agricultural laboratory.
In this area we will ride next to the archeological site all the way to Misminay, to enjoy a privileged view and learn about the history of this place. We will use this moment to take a break and enjoy of some snacks.
To continue our adventure, we will do a last push to the beautiful “Other Side”. This area has a unique view of Huarocondo Canyon, which we will descend. From Here we will shuttle to Perolniyoc to enjoy a lunch at a local family’s home.
After the lunch we will have one last descent with a spectacular stop to see the Perolniyoc Ruins.
Once at the bottom of the trail, there will be an optional short hike to the Perolniyoc Waterfall.
From this last stop we will have about one hour and a half back to Cusco in our van.
