Overview
Looking for a quick escape into the Andes without committing to a full multi-day trek? This Weekend Getaway to Salkantay brings you into one of Peru’s most striking landscapes in just a single, adventure-filled day.
You’ll hike a 10 km stretch of the iconic Salkantay Trail, the same route used by trekkers heading toward Machu Picchu, but without the heavy packs, long distances, or high-altitude pass. It’s a softer, more accessible version of the classic experience, ideal for travelers who want mountain scenery, fresh air, and a taste of the region’s beauty.
The route takes you through extensive valleys, glacier-carved terrain, and viewpoints that reveal the ice walls of Salkantay and Humantay. By mid-afternoon, you arrive at Soraypampa, home to our exclusive Sky Domes, where you’ll spend the night in comfort surrounded by towering peaks and open sky.
