Cusco to Phullawasipata
Our Rainbow mountain & Red Valley Tour with E-Bike Ride experience will start with an early morning. We will pick you up around 6am on our shuttle to the beautiful Vinicunca. It will take us about 3 hours to our destination, but it will be packed with breathtaking views and a breakfast stop in Cusipata.
Along the way, enjoy views of ancient Inca terraces, still in use by local farmers, beautiful valleys, and rugged mountain landscapes.
Once we arrive to Cusipata we will head into a local restaurant to enjoy breakfast together before continuing on to Phullawasipata, where the trailhead awaits. You will see herds of llamas and alpacas milling around, and huge mountains in every direction.
Here our guide will run a trail briefing covering safety instructions, explanations about the trail and a crash course on ebike’s riding. Time to ride bikes!
Time to expolore Vinicunca and Hatun Rit’Iyop
Our ride will start with a light uphill. Along this segment we will enjoy the views of snow-capped peaks, the red mountains and the unique valley in between those. We might see some cara cara falcons, llamas, alpacas and even Andean Condors.
On our way to the summit, we will have a last challenge that will takes to 4995m/16388ft. It consists of a climb of about 15 minutes, then we will be in the world famous Vinicunca. Here we will take a moment to enjoy the views of the Rainbow Mountain, take some pictures and rest a little before continuing.
The next segment of the ride will be a downhill to the base of Wasaqucha. Which is a peak part of the
Vilcanota Mountain Range. Here we will visit a couple of lakes and make a stop for snacks. From here we will start our return to the Vinicunca, before heading to the Red Valley. The first part of which will be an uphill for about 15 mins.
After we are done with the climbing, we will head to Hatun Rit’Iyop 5040m/16535ft, the mountain next to Vinicunca. Once we pass over this mountain, we will admire the Red Valley. The Valley greets its visitors with an otherworldly landscape, completely red mountains with a scattering of green bushes.
From here we will descend to Llacto along a beautiful Valley filled with streams and the views of the red mountains. Once at Llacto we will meet our driver. Then we’ll head back to Cusipata for a well-deserved lunch at another local restaurant. Finally, we will return to Cusco with an estimated time of arrival at 6:00 p.m.
