Discover the best of southern Peru on a 9-day journey connecting Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. This route follows the classic Andean corridor, showcasing the region’s most iconic landscapes and cultural highlights.

Begin in Arequipa, exploring its white volcanic architecture and colonial landmarks. Continue through the high Andes to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, where you can witness the flight of the Andean condor. Travel across the vast Altiplano to Puno and experience the living culture of Lake Titicaca’s Uros and Taquile Islands. From there, journey to Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire, and visit the Sacred Valley, rich with archaeological sites and traditional villages. The adventure concludes with a full-day visit to the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Arequipa airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in and rest. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the “White City,” visiting the Main Square, Cathedral, and Santa Catalina Monastery, one of Peru’s most remarkable colonial landmarks. We’ll also stop at Yanahuara and Carmen Alto viewpoints for stunning vistas of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes.

We’ll depart early toward Chivay, crossing the high Andean plains and passing Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to wild vicuñas and alpacas. After lunch, we’ll visit the Colca Canyon Viewpoints, where you can marvel at the immense depth of the canyon and spot soaring Andean condors. In the afternoon, relax in the La Calera hot springs, surrounded by mountain scenery. Overnight in Chivay.

After breakfast, we continue our journey toward Puno, ascending to high-altitude passes that offer breathtaking views of the Andes. Arrive in Puno by late afternoon and settle into your hotel.

Embark on a full-day boat tour on Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. What is this tour?

This is a 9-day tour along the best route in the southern Andes of Peru. Explore the most iconic natural wonders, museums, cities, landscapes and more.

The best seasons are during the dry months in the Andes (typically May to September) when the skies are clearer and the trails are more stable.

A maximum of 25 passengers.

Client Cancellation:

To cancel, send a written notice to “69 Explorer.” The initial deposit is not refundable. Check your insurance for potential coverage for cancellation reasons.

Cancellations more than 15 days before departure result in a 50% deposit forfeiture. For cancellations between 7 and 15 days before departure, if full payment has been made, 50% of the total cost will be refunded. No refunds are given for cancellations less than 48 hours before departure or for partial tour cancellations.

Alterations/Cancellations by Us:

In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as technical issues, adverse weather, strikes, government actions, or civil disturbances, “69 Explorer” will try to provide alternative arrangements or equivalent trips, without offering refunds. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary, but we will aim to maintain the agreed services.

Significant changes will be communicated before your trip, with comparable alternative plans offered. Any additional costs from these changes are the client’s responsibility. We cannot compensate for expenses like international flights, visas, vaccinations, etc.

If “69 Explorer” cancels a tour, a full refund will be provided.

All 69 Explorer trips are guided by Local Experienced, English-speaking guides familiar with the trail and Incan history.
