Welcome to this scenic journey with the Vistadome Train Machu Picchu 1-Day Tour, where every moment becomes a memory. We will pick you up early from your hotel in one of our private vans. Together, we will travel to the Ollantaytambo train station, approximately 1.5 hours (60 km or 37 mi) away. Here, our adventure to the legendary Machu Picchu truly begins.

Train to Aguas Calientes.

We will travel from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, the quaint town also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. This train ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. During the ride, you will get views of the changing landscapes, from Andean highlands to lush cloud forests.

Tour in Machu Picchu.

Upon our arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will take a short bus ride of about 30 minutes to the magnificent Machu Picchu. We will experience the rich history and breathtaking architecture of this Inca citadel. Our guided tour will last approximately 2 to 3 hours, exploring the main sites such as The Temple of the Sun and the Room of the Three Windows.

Return to Cusco.

After immersing ourselves in the mysteries and marvels of Machu Picchu, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes. You’ll have time to explore this charming town, grab a bite to eat, or shop for souvenirs before boarding our Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo. Then we’ll take our private van back to Cusco, concluding our unforgettable full-day tour.

What time does the Vistadome Train Machu Picchu 1 Day Tour start and end?

The tour typically starts early in the morning, around 4:00 AM – 5:00 AM, and ends in the evening, approximately around 10:00 PM.

Your guide will pick you up directly from your hotel.

Yes, it is recommended to have printed copies of your train and Machu Picchu entrance tickets, although digital copies on your phone may also be accepted.

Yes, the tour is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. However, it does involve some walking on uneven terrain, so it may be challenging for very young children or those with mobility issues.

Luggage is not allowed on the train. Passengers can only bring only a small backpack or bag for essentials, and can store their bags in the hotel.

There are light snacks provided on the train. Meals however are not provided, guests can purchase meals in Aguas Calientes or bring their own snacks.

Dress in layers and bring raingear, no matter the season.

Client Cancellation:

To cancel, send a written notice to “69 Explorer.” The initial deposit is not refundable. Check your insurance for potential coverage for cancellation reasons.

Cancellations more than 15 days before departure result in a 50% deposit forfeiture. For cancellations between 7 and 15 days before departure, if full payment has been made, 50% of the total cost will be refunded. No refunds are given for cancellations less than 48 hours before departure or for partial tour cancellations.

Alterations/Cancellations by Us:

In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as technical issues, adverse weather, strikes, government actions, or civil disturbances, “69 Explorer” will try to provide alternative arrangements or equivalent trips, without offering refunds. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary, but we will aim to maintain the agreed services.

Significant changes will be communicated before your trip, with comparable alternative plans offered. Any additional costs from these changes are the client’s responsibility. We cannot compensate for expenses like international flights, visas, vaccinations, etc.

If “69 Explorer” cancels a tour, a full refund will be provided.

All 69 Explorer trips are guided by Local Experienced, English-speaking guides familiar with the trail and Incan history.
