Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu And Rainbow Mountain Tour Package (3 Days)

Day 2 of our Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain package is dedicated to the exploration of the stunning Machu Picchu. This day marks a highlight in our journey as we unravel the mysteries of this ancient Incan citadel.

On the second day of our Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu And Rainbow Mountain Tour Package, you will experience the pinnacle of our journey! This includes exploring the majestic Machu Picchu. Today combines centennial history with stunning scenery, creating memories for a lifetime.

We will start our day early in Aguas Calientes. After an energizing breakfast, it will be time for today’s adventure. Aguas Calientes serves as the gateway to Machu Picchu and buzzes with anticipation for travelers from all around the world.

Our journey to Machu Picchu will takes to 2,430 m (7,972 ft), where the citadel will greet us with stunning beauty and grandeur.

During the 2 hour guided visit with Circuit 2, we will explore its main areas, including:

• The Room of the Three Windows
• The Temple of the Sun
• The Intihuatana

Huayna Picchu Mountain Hike is an optional add-on, and can be added to your trip under request during the booking.

After the exploration, we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes. At the town you will have some time to relax, enjoy a meal, and reflect about your Machu Picchu experience.

Return to Cusco.

Later, you will board a train back to Ollantaytambo. This scenic train ride allows to unwind while enjoying the stunning views of the Sacred Valley. Once we arrive at Ollantaytambo, we transfer to our 69Explorer Van for our final journey back to Cusco.

• Lowest altitude: Aguas Calientes at about 2,040 m (6,690 ft).

On Day 3, head to Peru’s second most popular attraction the mesmerizing Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. This full-day tour will take us through some of the most stunning landscapes in the Peruvian Andes, showcasing a spectrum of natural colors that make Rainbow Mountain a must-visit destination.

We will drive from Cusco to the trailhead. This journey itself is a visual treat, as we pass through traditional villages and witness the daily life of the Andean communities.

On arrival at the trailhead, we will begin our hike towards the Rainbow Mountain. The hike is a rewarding challenge, as we ascend through ever-changing scenery. You will witness a dramatic shift in landscapes, from lush fields to the strikingly colored mineral deposits that give Rainbow Mountain its name.

Vinicunca.

Reaching the summit of Rainbow Mountain/Vinicunca 5,200 m (17,060 ft) above sea level, will be a moment of triumph. The view from the top is breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of the Andean range and the vivid stripes of the mountain itself.

After spending time at the summit, capturing memories and enjoying the spectacular views, we will begin our descent. The hike down will offer a different perspective of the stunning surroundings.

Upon completing our hike, we will return to Cusco, bringing an end to an exhilarating day.

• Distance covered: Approximately 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) round trip hike.
• Highest altitude: 5,200 m (17,060 ft) at the summit of Rainbow Mountain.
• Lowest altitude: Cusco at 3,400 m (11,155 ft).
• Level of difficulty: Challenging, due to the high altitude and length of the hike.
